OUR ANNUAL CHEESE & SOAP CLASS

Again, we will be inviting Karen Smith from Lady-K farm to join
us as a guest soapmaker for a cheese & Soap making workshop!!  Sounds like the perfect day to me!!

Our Special Cheese & Soap class will be offered on Saturday, August 4th!

  
~Cheese Making Workshops Offered~
 

Our original and most popular class, our
Classic Full Day "All-Inclusive"
 cheese making workshop that includes our unique, full artisan cheese and Charcuterie luncheon.
 
In addition, we are now offering a variety of other classes: 

  • "Basic" Beginner
  • "Friday Night Fun" BYOB Beginner
  • Full day Intermediate/Advanced
  • Parent & Child Cheese Making and farm Fun, ages 6+
  • Two Day Full Hands-on Beginner to Intermediate

Workshop Descriptions 

Full Day
“All-inclusive”Cheese Making with our unique, extensive Artisan Cheese & Charcuterie Lunch BYOB 
 
11AM – 5:00PM    $165.00 per person

Cheeses we will learn how to make include, Traditional Greek Style Feta, European Belgium Style Feta, French Style Chevre &
our 45 minute Mozzarella. 
The "All-inclusive" workshop also features our unique artisan cheese &
Charcuterie Lunch as well as many more cheve recipe variations, what to use and where to buy all supplies, trouble shooting and our detailed cheese making booklet that includes a few extra cheese recipes.
Lastly, a visit with our beautiful herd of Nubian dairy goats!!

Feel free to bring wine or beer to enjoy with your artisan cheese luncheon



Beginner 2 hour Cheese Making
 
$65.00 per person

Cheese we will make: Ricotta & our 45 minute Mozzarella. 

Learn what equipment you need, the best ingredients to have, where
 to buy them, and how to make, flavor and store your own homemade fresh cheese.  We will use both farm fresh and market purchased goats
milk as well as farm fresh
 cow and store bought cow’s milk.

Please note: These basic classes are not as detail oriented as our
full day all-inclusive classes.   In addition,  they do not include additional
cheese making recipes, our artisan cheese luncheon or a visit
with our goat herd.



Parent & Child Cheese making & Farm Fun!! Ages: 6 and up
10am - 1pm or 3pm - 6pm $65.00 (One adult, One child)
$25.00 per additional child from the same family.

We begin the day with our wonderful herd of Nubian dairy goats and
babies, where we learn about what they eat and the snacks they love and
of course, you will get to feed them some of their favorites! Next, each child
 get's a chance to milk a goat if they desire or just hold onto a play with one
of the many baby goats...after milking, it is time to come into the kitchen
and learn how to make wonderful, Mozzarella cheese,
Cream Cheese & Butter.

Please note: This class is only held during the spring and summer
as I find it
much
more fun for the kids if goat babies are frolicking around the farm.

Children must be accompanied by an adult
***Due to the nature of this class, it is subject to cancellation in the
event of bad weather...please check the website on the day before your scheduled class for cancellations (if we cancel a class for weather or for our illness or issue we will always allow you to reschedule)***


Beginner Basic "FRIDAY NIGHT FUN" BYOB
 2 1/2 hour Cheese Making
  $65.00 per person
Cheese we will make:
Ricotta and our 45 minute Mozzarella

Learn what equipment you need the best ingredients to have, where to buy them, and how to make, flavor and store your own homemade fresh cheese.  We will use store bought milk and cream.
 ~Feel free to bring wine and/or beer to enjoy during the class~


Intermediate/Advanced Cheese making
See schedule for dates and times offered

Prerequisite: Full day Cheese, Basic Beginner or a current cheesemaker

We will learn to make Bloomy rind & Hard cheeses, we will learn about ageing, ripening, molding and pressing.  Cheese that we make vary but generally we make Brie or Camembert, Monterey Jack and Fleur Verte
 (a fresh, short aged goat cheese coated in fresh herbs).  The cheese made in this class will not reguire you to own or purchase a cheese
press however, one is very useful.

~Feel free to bring wine and/or beer to enjoy during the class~


 

~A full Lunch will be served including an extensive cheese course
during our full day all-inclusive workshop...bring your own wine
 to enjoy with a variety of unique artisan cheeses, we suggest Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet and Sparkling wines~

Super Savings on Cheese Making Kits
will be available to purchase after the class!
Standing Stone offers a basic cheese making kit that has everything
you need to go home and make 6-8 batches of the cheeses
we learned how to make in class. If purchased outside of class,
this kit is worth approx. $55.00,  due to our ability to buy in bulk,
we pass our savings on to our class participants for $30.00 per kit! 
We only sell our kits to class participants.
Please note, that we do not offer repeat sales of supplies.

~Private parties available at your home or mine or if
you have a group of 6 or more, let me know and I may
be able to schedule a class date that is more
convenient for your group~


Deposits are non-refundable, you must contact us 72 hours before your scheduled class in order to be eligible to reschedule.  After the 96 hour cancellation time, you must make a 2nd deposit in order to rebook
 your class regarless of reason.  However, if I am able to fill your space
 I will allow rescheduling of your class but, deposits are never refundable.
 

If you have a gift certificate or coupon all changes must
be made within 72 hours of your scheduled workshop
of your coupon or gift certificate will be subject to the cancellation fees
stated on the gift certificate/coupon I am able to fill your seat. 


Payment may be made by cash, check  credit card
or paypal.  If you decide to mail your payment, please email me and
I will hold your space for 5 days while awaiting payment.

 one week before the scheduled workshop date or they will be subject
 to cancellation, if you are scheduled in a cancelled class you may

 illness/emergency, deposits will be transferred to
another class opening and may be used at your convenience,
 please note again that deposits
are not refundable once received**
